MODESTY

The literal meaning of Modesty is shame, concealment, and hijab.

In the terminological sense, Modesty means living a chaste life by avoiding indecency, immodesty, and obscenity.

A modest person has a clean character and a strong belief in the existence of Allah Almighty because he avoids immodesty and impudicity and considers Allah Almighty to be omnipresent. Immodesty damages a person’s honor and dignity, making them disgraceful in the world and a criminal in the court of conscience.

It is narrated from Hazrat Zain bin Talha (May God be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon Him and His Progeny) said:

“Every religion has a special characteristic, and the special characteristic of Islam is modesty.”

A person who is deprived of Modesty ruins the sanctity of relationships. Everything has beauty and elegance, and the beauty of a believer is Modesty.

There is a flood of immodesty, obscenity, and nudity in society. This flood is entering our homes unwillingly, inviting people to commit sins.

By calling immodesty and obscenity enlightenment and modernity, Muslims are being deprived of true beauty, which is Modesty.
